Although this museum is home to the paintings of a number of Florentine artists from the 13th to 16th centuries, it is most famous for Michelangelo’s David, moved to the museum in 1873 from its place in front of Florence’s town hall.

Opening Hours: Tuesday- Sunday, 8:15 am- 6:30 pm; Closed Monday. Also closed January 1, May 1 and December 25
